The ideal candidate is an experienced technology dealmaker with strong commercial instincts, a data-driven approach to negotiations, and a genuine interest in enterprise technology. They enjoy understanding how technology works, ask thoughtful questions, challenge supplier assumptions, and validate business value to drive better commercial outcomes.
Working closely with Procurement leadership, Finance, Legal, Engineering, and business stakeholders, this individual will negotiate supplier agreements, analyze spend and market data, support category strategies, and manage supplier relationships across the enterprise. The role offers significant opportunities to develop expertise across strategic infrastructure categories, including cloud and Generative AI, while delivering measurable business value from day one.
Here you can:
- Lead sourcing initiatives and negotiate commercial agreements across a broad IT infrastructure portfolio, including cloud infrastructure, Generative AI platforms, compute, storage, networking, colocation, end-user computing, and related infrastructure technologies.
- Draft, review, and redline complex technology agreements, ensuring favorable commercial terms and appropriate risk mitigation.
- Review technical proposals, bills of materials (BOMs), pricing models, and commercial terms to validate competitiveness, identify cost optimization opportunities, and ensure alignment with business requirements.
- Maintain infrastructure pricing benchmarks, supplier discount libraries, and commercial intelligence to improve negotiation outcomes and pricing consistency.
- Analyze infrastructure spend, budgets, supplier performance, and forecasts, and develop dashboards that combine spend, contract, budget, and supplier information to identify trends, support data-driven procurement decisions, and uncover sourcing opportunities.
- Partner with Finance and business stakeholders to collect budget information and improve forecasting across key infrastructure suppliers.
- Maintain visibility into enterprise Generative AI investments by tracking spend, identifying consolidation opportunities, highlighting technology alignment across business units, and leveraging enterprise scale to support strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Support category strategy development by evaluating suppliers, market trends, commercial risks, stakeholder priorities, and opportunities to improve value across assigned infrastructure categories.
- Build trusted relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders while effectively navigating a large, matrixed organization.
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes through automation, analytics, AI-enabled capabilities, and continuous process improvement.
Qualifications
Here you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 4+ years of procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management, or technology procurement experience.
- Demonstrated success negotiating technology agreements and delivering measurable commercial results.
- Solid commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate pricing, commercial frameworks, and contract terms.
- Experience working with leading enterprise technology suppliers such as AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft, OpenAI, Dell Technologies, HPE, Cisco, Apple, or similar providers is strongly preferred.
- Experience reviewing technical proposals, pricing models, or infrastructure bills of materials (BOMs).
- Proven analytical skills with experience using Excel, financial analysis, and data visualization to support sourcing decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.
What we'll look for:
- Genuine curiosity about enterprise technology and IT infrastructure, with the ability and desire to understand concepts such as CPUs, GPUs, memory, storage, networking, virtualization, cloud infrastructure, hardware platforms, and emerging Generative AI technologies.
- Naturally inquisitive and analytical, asks thoughtful questions, challenges supplier proposals and commercial frameworks, validates assumptions, and evaluates total cost of ownership rather than focusing solely on purchase price.
- Comfortable asking challenging questions, validating supplier assumptions, and constructively challenging commercial proposals to ensure the company receives the best long-term value.
- Proven ability to negotiate effectively, make sound commercial decisions, and drive deals to completion without unnecessary delays.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Comfortable working across a complex, matrixed organization with multiple business units and stakeholder groups.
- Ability to synthesize spend data, market intelligence, supplier performance, and financial analysis into actionable sourcing strategies and executive recommendations.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and continuously looking for opportunities to improve processes and create value.
