Job Description
OVERVIEW
The Associate Producer is a key member of CNBC Asia’s editorial team, responsible for leading the creation and delivery of live business news programming. Working closely with Show Producers and cross-functional teams, this role oversees content development, manages production workflows, and ensures the smooth execution of live and pre-recorded segments across multiple formats.
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in TV news production, a deep understanding of financial and business news, and the ability to independently line-produce daily live shows with minimal supervision, while thriving in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute compelling story ideas across live, pre-recorded and packaged formats
Perform live gallery production, responding swiftly and effectively to breaking news
Produce and project-manage live and pre-recorded outside broadcasts across the APAC region
Communicate clearly and respectfully with Producers, On-air Talents, Video Editors, Studio Directors, and Graphic Designers
Partner with Operations teams such as Graphics and Studio and CNBC global teams to produce and deliver stellar live programming
Build and maintain relationships with CNBC guests and contributors
Operate effectively within a fast-paced control room environment
Partner with Video Editors, Graphic Designers and On-air Talents to build elements to enhance story telling
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced live broadcast environment
A collaborative mindset rooted in teamwork, driven by a pioneering spirit that inspires and empowers others to share in your passion and vision.
Strong knowledge of business, economics, and financial markets across Asia
Clear understanding of CNBC’s editorial standards and programming priorities
Demonstrated leadership capabilities
Solid grasp of social media’s role in news broadcasting and multi-platform content delivery
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES
While not essential for this role, candidates with experience or proficiency in the following attributes tend to excel in this position.
3 or more years of experience working in an international news organization with control room/gallery exposure.
A proven track record in TV news production, with expertise in identifying and delivering breaking news
Knowledge of iNews, Final Cut Pro, TV Production systems, TV graphic systems
