Job Description

 

Role: 

Implements and provides continued support for infrastructure systems and services.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

25% - TECHNICAL DIRECTION - Recommend technical standards with an understanding of the technical infrastructure; assesses needs and requests in order to develop options and recommendations; coordinates with vendors to ensure required infrastructure changes result in no or minimal disruption to daily operations.  E

 

25% - TECHNICAL INFASTRUCTURE - Ensures systems are performing and stable, and operating at acceptable availability and response levels, ensuring best practices are applied for installation, configuration and security.  E

 

25% - DATA ANALYSIS - Tracks and reports usage statistics in order to provide meaningful and actionable information as well as to formulate recommendations for continued operational improvement.  E

 

25% - OTHER DUTIES – Backs up IT Technicians in their absence and assists Manager in order to ensure the smooth operation of the department.  N

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or any combination of education and experience, which provides the critical success factors.

 

MCSE/MCSA certification or subset of required training including Active Directory, Server 2003, Exchange, Designing/Implementing Security in a MS network, ISA; CompTIA certification including Server+ or specific vendor hardware certification, Security+, or Network+; CCNA or subset of required training (preferred)

 

3 – 5 years experience working with infrastructure services including evaluation, installation, configuration and problem solving preferred

 

Knowledge of current infrastructure technologies and tools including server class hardware and operating systems, data and voice communications, email web services, and security concepts.

 

Skill in Crystal Reports (preferred)
