Job Description

The Department Assistant helps keep Radiology operations running smoothly by providing administrative support, maintaining the radiology scheduling system, coordinating communication across departments, training and assisting staff, managing departmental supplies and records, and supporting patient follow-up and other daily operational needs including:

  • Radiology Scheduling System Management: Maintain, troubleshoot, enhance, test, and support the radiology scheduling system, including system updates, resource management, procedure maintenance, and coordinating upgrades/go-live activities.
  • User Support & Training: Educate and support schedulers and staff, oversee backup support, communicate system changes and errors, and develop/update documentation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between Radiology, Information Systems, Central Scheduling, affiliates, and clinics to ensure effective communication and system integration.
  • Administrative & Operational Support: Manage department supply inventory and ordering, assist with purchasing and invoice reconciliation, and support departmental operations.
  • Patient Follow-Up & Additional Responsibilities: Coordinate callbacks and six-month follow-up paperwork for multiple facilities and perform other assigned duties while supporting Munson Medical Center's mission, quality initiatives, and Relationship-Based Care principles.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Advanced computer experience. Knowledge of Munson’s Radiology scheduling policies and procedures is preferred.
  • Above average communications skills, written and verbal; ability to converse well on the telephone and in face to face situations.
  • Must be able to operate under frequently stressful conditions due to the constantly changing requirements in the department. Understands the process of change and how it affects human behavior.
