Job Description

As an Engineering Operations Manager, you will support and improve enterprise business applications that enable engineering teams to work more efficiently. The role is hands-on and focused on process structure, tooling, and system optimization, with a strong emphasis on Atlassian administration (Jira, Confluence). 

You will work closely with engineering teams to understand their challenges, support day-to-day operational needs, and help improve workflows and internal structures. The team is also exploring early-stage initiatives in Business Intelligence, Big Data, and AI tools to improve engineering effectiveness across the organization. 

This role is well-suited for a mid-level engineer with strong fundamentals, curiosity, and the potential to grow into broader platform and enablement responsibilities. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Administer and support Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) across the organization. 
  • Provide user support and routine maintenance, including workflow, permission, and configuration adjustments. 
  • Support India-based development teams with day-to-day platform requests. 
  • Assist with migration initiatives, such as moving teams from legacy tools to Jira. 
  • Listen to teams, understand their challenges, and help improve engineering efficiency and processes. 

Growth & Evolution:

  • Contribute to process optimization and Agile ways of working in collaboration with engineering teams. 
  • Support early-stage work in Business Intelligence and Big Data as the function matures. 
  • Explore and experiment with AI tools to improve engineering operations and internal processes. 
  • Learn new tools and technologies as needed, including Python, to support future initiatives. 

Qualifications

  • Experience with Atlassian administration (Jira, Confluence) (deep expertise not required; willingness to learn is key). 
  • Strong listening skills and the ability to understand team challenges before proposing solutions. 
  • Ability to work with different teams, identify root causes, and suggest practical improvements. 
  • Business and process understanding — how teams work and how to make them more effective. 
  • Interest in learning new tools and technologies and growing beyond current responsibilities. 
  • Comfortable working in a globally distributed, asynchronous environment. 

Nice-to-have: 

  • Exposure to Agile methodologies or engineering operations. 
  • Experience with Python or willingness to learn. 
  • Interest in or exposure to AI tools for process and operational improvement.
