The Portfolio Management team of MET Asset Management Support Zrt. is looking for a motivated colleague for the position of Junior Aggregator IT Engineer on a permanent basis, working from our Budapest office. The new team member’s main responsibility will be to participate in the development, operation, and expansion of the MET Group’s aggregator (central balancing) platform. This is a hybrid engineering–IT role where you will work with both code and industrial equipment, while gaining insight into electricity market processes.

Job Description

  • Developing Python- and SQL-based scripts, automations, and data processing pipelines
  • Coding proof-of-concept and pilot projects for new business and technical ideas
  • Supporting and developing IT systems used for operating the aggregator platform
  • Supporting the integration of new power plants, consumers, and storage units
  • Understanding and managing communication between on-site controllers SCADA aggregator platform
  • Monitoring the daily operation of the aggregator platform
  • Operational and technical communication with MAVIR and partners
  • Supporting the trading and back-office teams with technical data, reports, and automations

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering or IT
  • 1–3 years of experience in energy production or electricity trading
  • Confident English communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Strong MS Office knowledge (advanced Excel skills are essential)
  • Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., VBA, Python)
  • High level of precision and attention to detail
  • Proactive, reliable personality who is not afraid of challenges and responsibility
