Job Description
Secure the success for medmix in the US and global markets by ensuring reliable, cost effective and efficient availability of medmix products and services. The Metrologist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of measurement and calibration systems used in manufacturing. This role supports quality and operational excellence through the development and maintenance of metrology processes, measurement equipment, inspection methods, and calibration programs, while partnering with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to support new projects, process improvements, and product quality requirements.
Main accountabilities and tasks
1. Investigate metrology methods, including multi-sensor CMMs, non-contact inspection systems, and advanced sensors and gaging methods
2. This position requires the ability to work with minimal supervision oversight on a moderate level of tasks
3. Responsible for fixture drawings, control/rev and maintenance
4. Experience programming a CMM
5. Test mechanical features using coordinate measuring machines (CMM), video-based inspection and measurement equipment
6. Support the qualification of new measurement and testing equipment
7. Responsible for calibration systems to include risk assessments, calibration schedule, calibration method, calibrations, assist in out of spec instrument investigations and other calibration duties as assigned.
8. Static and Dynamic repeatability studies for Measurement Fixtures, Manufacturing Tooling and Inline Measurement Gauges
9. Support engineering on new projects
10. Evaluates and provides input to inspection processes via inspection aids and instruction guidelines
11. Provide “hands on” support to manufacturing during manufacturing, assembly, and test of prototype and production hardware to ensure delivered products meet requirements, are easy to manufacture, and are testable during production for high yield product release
Qualifications
Must have experience and qualifications
Work experience: 3+ years in a manufacturing environment
Education: Associates or Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Must have related field or equivalent work experience
Other:
1. Strong understanding of statistical reasoning and decision making
2. Proven experience working in a similar role, specifically in the metrology field.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
4. Strong organizational skills and analytical mindset
5. Initiative-taking and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
6. Previous experience working in GxP environment
7. Developing knowledge of the basic principles in various engineering disciplines
8. Ability to investigate and learn new technologies within metrology
9. Read and understand mechanical drawings including GD&T
10. Understand statistical analysis
11. Coordinate, create, and modify inspection routines on CMM for current and new components
