Property Lease Administrator

  • Full-time

Job Description

McDonald’s Australia is the largest quick service restaurant operation in the country. Fondly known as “Maccas”, we are famous in the global McDonald’s world for adding beetroot to our Aussie burgers and creating the world’s first McCafé in Melbourne. A household name in Australia for over 40 years, we believe that our customers are the heart and soul of everything we do and make it our mission to bring a smile at every seat.

But we don’t just build burgers; we build property too!

Could you be our next Lease Administrator?
With new restaurant openings and reinvestment contributing to 2-3% of the Australian business growth each year, our National Development Group plays an integral role in growing the freehold and lease portfolio for all restaurants. Based in Thornleigh, this exciting role will see you maintain and manage all of the occupancy costs for our restaurants across the country, whilst ensuring they are accurately paid and maintained in all databases.

What can you expect on a day to day basis?

  • Conduct base rent reviews, and follow up with lessors who are late with payments
  • Check calculations submitted by Lessors and ensure they are in line with the Lease
  • Communicate with finance regarding rent charges
  • Maintain up to date quarterly CPI figures from the ABS on record
  • Check calculations submitted by Lessors and ensure they are in line with the Lease
  • Work with Asset Managers to provide reporting on Market Review dates
  • Check budgets to previous year’s outgoings and calculate the variance
  • Check audited outgoings against budget
  • Review excess tenants’ rent reviews that are paid direct to McDonalds
  • Maintain the database accurate and up to date including rent changes and details
  • Abstract all key lease information into the database for all new restaurants and new leases
  • Maintain all critical information pertaining to each property/site that is leased or owned
  • General issues and inquiries

Your keys to success:
To open the door to success in this team, you must be someone who has a strong financial acumen and who is comfortable with speaking to licences (including some difficult conversations). You will also have a great attention to detail, and be able to keep up with an extremely fast paced culture. To get us really excited you will have similar experience in a franchising environment, however strong leasing / property management experience will certainly trump this.

Experience Essentials:

  • Strong understanding of property / leasing jargon
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Meticulous in keeping databases accurate and up to date
  • Ability to capture and influence business owners (franchise or small)
  • Confident in building and maintaining relationships with a number of key stakeholders
  • Able to demonstrate strong attention to detail
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of initiative
