About the role 

Our high-profile Employment & Industrial practice is recognised as a market leader and has represented trade unions and individuals in landmark cases. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Assistant to join our Employment and Industrial Law team in our Melbourne CBD office on a full-time, permanent basis.

 As a Legal Assistant in our Employment & Industrial team, you will: 

  • Provide accurate updates and information to clients in a timely manner, ensuring expectations are managed effectively
  • Oversee the administration of client files from opening to closure, maintaining a high standard of organisation
  • Draft and produce client correspondence with professionalism and attention to detail
  • Assist with litigation tasks including filing document, and the collation of pleadings, affidavits and court books
  • Prepare and process client invoices with accuracy and adherence to guidelines
  • Perform a range of general administrative tasks as required to support the team 

The experience we are looking for

You have a passion and drive to get the very best for our clients with a strong background in administration ideally gained within the legal industry. Your strong service focus with the ability to handle sensitive matters professionally and with empathy will see you make this role your own. 

In addition, you will have:

  • Experience in a Legal Assistant or high-level administration position
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering work of the highest standard
  • Excellent and tactful communication skills, including verbal, written, and interpersonal abilities
  • Proven capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Sound judgement in escalating issues or information to a supervisor when necessary
  • Agility and openness to change including the use of AI and new Legal Services Platform
  • Strong ability to prioritise, cope with a fast-changing environment and possess excellent organisational skills
