Job Description
The Workday Integration Architecture is responsible for architecting, researching, designing, developing over 100 complex Workday integrations! In this role, you will be a member of the Workday Integration team that works with HR, Payroll, Time & Attendance, Recruiting/LMS teams to manage and support several Workday integrations. We are looking for self-starters, those who can work independently, with and across teams. You will coordinate client interviews, vendor meetings to produce detailed specifications and eventually write integration code to move data in and out of the WD system. You will work closely with business analysts, designers, and subject matter experts to understand functional requirements and conduct unit tests and document findings. This individual must apply strategic and creative thinking, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of our IT system investments.
Responsibilities:
Understand database architecture, tables, functional interactions, and recognize and understand impacts to downstream systems
Lead initiatives to analyze business problems to be solved with technology-based solutions. Supports multi-functional efforts to identify, interpret and produce recommendations based on company’s system needs. Advises business and IT groups by providing technical direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities
Take overall technology ownership and lead the strategic planning, architecture, design, development, deployment, and support of new applications with focus on SaaS / Cloud Applications, integrations and enhancements to existing applications
Ensure relevant cybersecurity controls, backup and DR plans are effectively implemented, updated, and maintained for all applications under purview
Ensure solutions provide consistent IT building blocks to effectively integrate with other functional areas, while promoting standardization and integration across our enterprise application suite
Understand business problems and opportunities in the context of the software requirements and recommend solutions that enable the specific functional organization to achieve its goals
Report status of on-going prioritized projects to functional and IT leadership. Identify and resolve ongoing day-to-day business issues pertaining to IT
Work with end users and analysts to fulfill project requests through development or enhancement of Workday and any peripheral systems e.g., SmartRecruiters, Glint, Dormakaba, Inspired eLearning etc.
Provide on-going support on “break-fix” issues for existing and / or new applications
Produce high quality documentation for requirements, solution options, business cases, and recommending optimum solutions
Manage enhancement requests, testing requirements during implementation, acceptance, installation, and deployment of solution
Work directly with the vendors as needed for troubleshooting and evaluation of new technology solutions
Collaborate with associates in other business functions and / or divisions as necessary on projects and tasks
Qualifications
5-8 years related work experience
Strong expertise in Workday Integrations and implementation tools (Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Report Writer, Workday Cloud Connect, Calculated fields and Workday Studio)
Proficient in Workday core HR, Payroll, Time & Attendance and Benefits business processes
Experience with Web Services and APIs (WSDL, SOAP, REST and WS standards)
Technical experience with XML and XSLT
Strong change management skills and the willingness to make a difference.
Good understanding of project management methodologies.
Data analysis skills to identify what data the business currently has, what data needs to be carried over to a new system and what data needs to be constructed.
Data cleansing knowledge in scrubbing current state data for future state data and processes.
Familiar with agile development principles
Knowledge of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and familiarity with Microsoft Power BI
Education:
Degree in the field of business administration, business management, computer science, accounting, MIS or Manufacturing.
