Job Description
Purpose for the job:
To assist in the day-to-day company management and operations to maximize the company’s performance
and returns to shareholders for a portfolio of projects of up to 1000 MW.
Key Accountabilities:
Operations & Asset Ownership Oversights:
- Leverage assigned resources and delegation to manage all effort / resources towards achieving safe
- and reliable operation of the plant in line with shareholders’ mandates.
- Report to General Director, shareholders or appointed representatives (e.g. committee) on the status of
- operations and issue monthly reports covering operations, availability, maintenance performance,
- financial performance, objectives and management plans, changes, HSSEQ / Sustainability performance,
- contractor performance and manpower.
- Oversee planning and timely execution of all maintenance and inspection plans for the plant and
- ensure all corrective works requirements are promptly attended.
- Ensure availability of systems and records to monitor maintenance activities and performance (e.g. Work
- Orders, Plans, Spares, Results, Investigations, etc.); same can be linked to any Central Maintenance
- Management System (CMMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Solution as applicable.
- Review maintenance reports to identify any maintenance performance challenges, corrective works or common themes / recuring issues and ensure implementing required investigations to identify improvement recommendations.
- Apply effective contracting and commercial management to all engaged suppliers and service
- providers (i.e. O&M contractors) as per approved delegation of authority and management.
- Supervise all site contractor activities for compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.
- Provide guidance and support to site contractors to address technical challenges and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Ensure that all changes (plant, plans, people, documents, instruction, maintenance schedule, etc.) do not introduce any unforeseen / undesirable adverse impact.
- Ensure all change records are in place and relevant updates are applied where necessary.
- Support both internal and external annual technical audits by coordinating with auditors, preparing required
- documentation, and ensuring timely responses to audit inquiries.
Accounting & Financial Management:
- In line with agreed protocol with shareholders, support in the preparation in business plans covering costs,
- production, manpower and all associated requirements / targets in line with applicable obligations and
- shareholders’ expectations.
- Monitor the budget and analyze the benefits and costs (project & operations); recommend corrective actions if
- necessary.
- Ensure full reconciliation of sales data (quantities) with received invoices leveraging site performance metrics
- and monitoring systems with related records.
Oversight and Assurance:
- Ensure having a register of key risks impacting HSSEQ, operations, performance, liabilities and reputation with
- periodic update and monitoring of the status of these
- risks.
- Ensure effective implementation of Site Supervision HSSEQ management system in all plant activities (e.g.
- Permit to Work, Access Controls / logs, Observation Program, Shift Log, etc.)
Stakeholder Management, Reporting and External Communications
- Support all aspects of the project and operations within key discussions at both strategic and operational levels.
- Ensure that all relevant project / operations reports are completed in a comprehensive, accurate and timely
- manner, and comply with international principles of corporate governance and standards, and client requirements.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience Required:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
- MBA or master’s degree in a technical discipline is preferred.
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in plant operations, project management or related field
- Preferable local and global exposure, with roles focused on operation management and/or project
- management/governance.
Job-Specific Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of operation management and project management.
- Extensive knowledge of renewables technical concepts, challenges, operations, and projects.
- Extensive knowledge of renewable energy plant performance aspects and performance management
- Understanding Managerial Accounting & Financial Management Requirements
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to integrate multi-cultural & cross-functional teams
- Languages: English (Fluent-Mandatory), National Language at Location Assigned (Desirable),
