Masdar is the UAE’s clean energy champion and one of the largest companies of its kind in the world, advancing the development and deployment of renewable energy and green hydrogen technologies to address global sustainability challenges. Established in 2006, Masdar is today active in over 40 countries, helping them to achieve their clean energy objectives and advance sustainable development. Masdar is jointly owned by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Mubadala Investment Company (Mubadala), and Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), and under this ownership the company is targeting a renewable energy portfolio capacity of at least 100 gigawatts (GW) by 2030 and an annual green hydrogen production capacity of up to 1 million tones by the same year.

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage all technical and techno-economic of the multiple projects, preparing and agreeing on project specifications, budgets and timescales with contractors, PMC/owner’s engineer, clients or other stakeholders, and to define basic design, and create or review test procedures for renewable power plant components.

Key Accountabilities 

• To supervise PMC design review and ensure a common approach in requirements related to engineering across projects.
• Construction and commissioning supervision of large scale renewable plants
• Participation in all phases of RFP for renewable power projects
• Provide technical and techno-economic support for all projects and assets in operation
• Technical lead from an engineering perspective, ensure maximum value creation
• Ensure knowledge management practices are in place to enhance team learning and development
• Manage stakeholder relations relevant to engineering
• HQ management reporting
• Compliance with information security policies, procedures and requirements at all times
• Support for Quality Health and Safety Environment (QHSE) activities, policies and objectives of Masdar and compliance with the laws and regulations

Preferred Experience:

• 6-8 years of experience in the power industry preferably with an EPC contractor, developer, engineering firm or technical consultant or an equivalent experience  

• Master’s degree in Engineering or Renewable Energy or related field
• Chartered Engineer status(e.g. IET, EUR Ing, PEng) is an asset
• Project Management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2,) is an asset
