Job Description

Lytics is looking for a Sales Engineer with a solid blend of technical and personal skills. In this role you will need to be able to learn and understand how Lytics’ product can map to a variety of business needs.  Additionally you will need to explain as well as implement Lytics technology within prospect and customer software environments. You will need to be able to explain concepts like: Why is machine learning important when dealing with large amounts of data?  How can machine learning and automation make Marketing easier?

You will need to be able to explain advanced concepts to non-technical marketing audiences, as well as building and demonstrating technical solutions to technical audiences. You will be the expert with the Lytics solutions during the sales cycle. You will collaborate with our sales, marketing and services teams to continually improve our demonstrations, including sales scripts, discovery process, best practices, sharing expertise/training and guiding solution development.

Summary: You have an optimistic, problem solving mindset. You can jump into a conversation and ask the right questions to understand the needs of a prospective customer and their business.  You can then translate needs into a product functionality demonstration using a blend of whatever programming skills accomplish the goal.


  • Leverage knowledge of the product and web development skills to create technical demonstrations and proof-of-concept use cases for the sales team.

  • Collaborate with Account Executives within a rapidly growing sales team to identify and uncover customer business goals, needs and pains.

  • Demonstrate the value proposition of the Lytics platform and solutions by building customized product demonstrations.

  • Create strategic and technical sales strategies, presentations and product demonstrations for enterprise and mid-market level customers across multiple verticals.

  • Provide responses to RFPs and RFIs.

  • Provide responses to Security Inquiries with assistance from our Security team.

  • This role will include some travel, but that is not the primary focus of the role.


Required Skills/ Experience:

  • Demonstrated understanding in the following additional areas: Database technologies ; Web technology (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, JSON); Leveraging APIs via any programming language to transfer data between systems. Linux / Unix / DOS experience (aka you know how to leverage command line tools)

  • Interest in learning marketing technology and the marketing role across multiple business types.

  • Experience in discovering needs of customers, and translating needs into solutions to customers.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
