Job Description

If you are a person who does not want the monotony of doing the same job each day but prefers frequently changing tasks then this is the job for you!!! 

As a Utility Worker you will have the opportunity to provide support to different areas of the department while ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.  You will be given the opportunity to operate various types of hand tools, power equipment and a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT).  You will need to perform tasks with a high attention to detail and have an ability to inspect parts and to read blue prints. You will be expected to be actively involved in any continual process improvements of departments in which you serve. You must be a self-starter who requires minimal direct supervision and who is willing to excel in a cross-functional team. 

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

The knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the daily tasks and job duties as follows: 

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to legally work in the United States.
  • Must be willing to work Over-Time, alternate shifts, and weekends as/if needed on short notice.  
  • Must be able and willing to train new hires or new departmental transfers. 
  • Must be able to obtain and keep a PIT certification. 
  • Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide).  
  • Must be able and comfortable working in a team-driven environment.   
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to determine priorities and who requires minimal supervision.   
  • Must be able to demonstrate a high attention to detail.   
  • Must be able to accurately and legibly complete various forms of paperwork. 
  • Must be able to follow instructions, policies, and procedures on how to operate equipment, inspect product, complete paperwork.  
  • Ability to accurately perform item counts.   
  • Will be expected to clean the work area and department.   
  • Ability to multi-task.   
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

The physical requirements of this position are as follows:

  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds on an infrequent basis. 
  • Ability to stand, walk, twist, 8 hours per day. 
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools (i.e.: wrenches, screw drivers, hammers, sanders, etc.…).  
  • Ability to talk, listen, and speak clearly to co-workers.  
  • Ability to wear all required PPE.   
  • Ability to work in an active manufacturing environment (noise, dust, moving equipment/tooling).   
  • Ability to frequently lift and move 20 pound items over an 8 hour period.

This position also affords you the opportunity for earn up to $1200.00 in additional bonus compensation per year via our Key Performance Incentive (KPI) program.
