Job Description

The primary role of a CNC Router Operator is to efficiently and safely operate multi-axis CNC Routers. This position will produce finished wood parts using various pieces of CNC equipment, drawings, and precision measuring equipment. This is hands-on role and is expected to take ownership of the quality and quantity of product ran during his/her shift. This role is expected to be a self-starter and will only receive general supervision from the department Foreman.

Qualifications

Candidates must be able to demonstrate the following abilities: 

The knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the daily tasks and job duties bulleted above are as follows:

  •  Must be able to read and understand blue prints, sketches, and other shop drawings.
  •  Must be able to use precision measuring devices such as calipers, height gages, dial indicators, and other similar measuring equipment.
  •  Must understand G code and be able to have the ability to make simple revisions of the code on the shop floor.
  •  Must be willing to work Over-Time, alternate shifts, and weekends as/if needed on short notice.
  •  Ability to use a personal computer to perform inquires and to update information.
  •  Must have a working knowledge of arithmetic and geometry and know how to apply.
  •  Must be able to perform basic daily maintenance and clean-up of the machine and area.
  •  Must be able to perform own set-ups including tooling, fixtures, etc.…
  •  Must be able to measure parts to within .001”.
  •  Must be able to demonstrate troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  •  Must be able to follow instructions, policies, and procedures.
  •  Ability to multi-task and run multiple machines.
  •  Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

The physical requirements of this position are as follows:

  •  Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on an infrequent basis.
  •  Ability to lift 5-10 pounds frequently during 8 hours.
  •  Ability to stand, walk, twist 8 hours per day.
  •  Ability to talk, listen, and speak clearly to co-workers.
  • Ability to wear all required PPE.
  • Ability to work in an active manufacturing environment (noise, dust, moving equipment/tooling).
  •  Ability to read and interpret various types of precision measuring equipment and tools.

Hourly new hires can qualify for a 50 cent increase after the successful completion of the 90 day Introduction Period and receive consideration for an additional merit wage increase each year on their hire anniversary date in conjunction with an acceptable Performance Review. Regular fulltime hourly employees also have the opportunity for earn up to $1200.00 in additional bonus compensation per year via our Key Performance Incentive (KPI) program.
