Based in downtown San Francisco, we are Line2, the mobile business communications service for small business, that lets users talk, text and do business on any mobile device, anywhere in the world.

We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to lead our company’s accounting, financial reporting, cash management, planning, and Human Resources. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to oversee all aspects of accounting, finance, and administration in a growing, entrepreneurial environment. This person will be the highest-ranking accounting and finance person at Line2 and because we are a high-volume recurring subscription business this person must be an expert in accrual accounting, revenue recognition and large billing data sets.

Job Description

  • Monthly financial statements closure and reporting with a focus on revenue recognition, deferred revenue and subscription based revenue for monthly and annual revenue streams
  • Financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cost analysis both internally with other business leaders and externally to investors
  • Improvement of accounting systems, processes and internal controls
  • Managing the relationship with external auditors, tax advisors, bookkeeper, legal, 401K, and TriNet (payroll, benefits, HR and compliance)
  • Manage capitalization table, employee stock options, and other equity reporting
  • This person will be a major stake holder in billing operations; this person must be capable of interacting with operations, development, product, and customer service to ensure billing operations excellence and revenue integrity

Qualifications

  • Professional Accounting Qualification, CPA or Bachelor in Accounting/Finance Studies is required
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; 4 years of experience as an Accounting Manager or similar preferably at recurring subscription or technology company
  • Technically strong knowledge of GAAP and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent leadership, strategic planning and team building skills
  • Ability to immerse oneself to understand problems and propose solutions
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, board, investors and prospective partners
  • Experience in integrating systems and operations
  • Adept at QuickBooks, Excel, billing, equity, and CRM tools
  • Line2 is a start-up so this isn’t a turnkey role; we’re looking for an entrepreneurial-minded and high-energy person to add value across the organization
