Job Description
We are seeking a mid-level Java backend engineer to build and support service logic, data processing, integrations, and platform-reliability capabilities for business-critical workflows. This contract role combines hands-on development with production troubleshooting, monitoring, incident support, and cross-functional collaboration.
Enterprise experience strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and improve backend Java services and platform components.
- Develop service logic and data-processing capabilities supporting business-critical workflows.
- Contribute to integration-layer services and middleware capabilities.
- Partner with technical and operational stakeholders to resolve integration issues.
- Diagnose and resolve API and integration failures affecting downstream Salesforce Service Cloud processes.
- Participate in a developer production-support rotation and operational review process.
- Triage critical alerts and monitor health indicators for Java services and platform components.
- Handle urgent operational work, track open incidents, and document findings.
- Keep sprint data and work status current through tickets, standups, and team communication channels.
- Follow established engineering and DevOps processes and complete assigned work reliably and on schedule.
Qualifications
Must-Have Skills
- 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on Java development experience.
- Backend software engineering experience.
- Hands-on API and integration experience.
- Production troubleshooting and incident-support experience.
- Experience with production monitoring, alert triage, and service or platform health.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving API or integration failures.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- MuleSoft experience, strongly desired.
- Salesforce Service Cloud integration experience.
- Enterprise integration or middleware experience.
- Message-based or asynchronous integration experience.
- Data-processing or data-transformation experience.
- CI/CD and DevOps experience.
- Experience with monitoring or observability tools.
