Job Description
Investment Operations oversees all post-trading activities including settlements, reconciliations, transfers, collateral management, and pricing.
L&G Asset Management America is currently seeking a candidate to serve as a Derivative Operations Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the post-trade workflow of OTC and ETD products including pricing and collateral management. They will manage the oversight of State Street Alpha (outsourced provider) for all derivatives and collateral activities, and oversee strategic objectives and ensuring team member’s objectives are also aligned.
- Responsible for the overall management of the team who has oversight of the following tasks:
- OTC and ETD trade booking and life-cycle management
- Daily reconciliations of cash and positions related to derivatives activity
- Daily collateral and margin moves for bilateral OTC, cleared OTC and ETD
- End of day blotters and client reports
- Assist with onboarding and fund setups
- Provide sign-off for appropriate controls
- Ensure documentation and other regulatory requirements are met with respect to GIPS standards, SOC1 and internal audit and regulatory requirements
- Strive for excellence in people management, displaying an empathetic leadership style, leading by example
- Manage the implementation of change in the team, challenge assumptions and adapt or generate imaginative and innovative ideas for improvements to policies and operational systems globally
- Cross-train with global partners to enhance capabilities and coverage
- Proactively look for opportunities to leverage technology to automate manual processes
Qualifications
- Proven experience (10+ years) of derivative operations experience
- Experience leading and mentoring a team
- Charles Rivers CRIMS experience
- Understanding of Equities, ETFs, and FX
- Technical knowledge of derivative products including but not limited to Interest Rate Swaps (IRS), Credit Default Swaps (CDS), Options, Futures, Total Return Swaps (TRS), FX Forwards
- High aptitude of collateral management principles ETD and Cleared/Uncleared OTC
- Knowledge of pricing techniques for OTCs (including IRS, CDS, Options, TRS)
- Experience using vendor platforms including Markitwire, DTCC, and Icelink
- Familiarity with ISDA definitions
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of SQL and Power Automate is a plus

The starting salary offer will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s education, job-related experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location, and market factors.
