Job Description
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages Process Cranes sales activity for an assigned territory and/or assigned accounts. This position emphasizes on selling to process crane equipment customers and engineering companies (EPC) in nuclear and other sensitive material handling industries. Following are the position requirements/expectations:
- Identifying and tracking process crane projects.
- Introduce Konecranes to leading companies in the region/accounts.
- Solicits inquiries for new crane projects and performs appropriate spec take-off with working knowledge of all KC products
- Proficient use of Konecranes CRM tool for sales case management and associated reporting requirements
- Thorough Efecte software inquiry documentation
- Effective lead follow-up and new lead development
- Cost estimating and preparation of proposals. Work closely with Offer engineering to develop estimates and offers to the customer with the correct and best fit KC crane designs.
- Can sell value added products with an emphasis on “Selling Safety”.
- Proficient use of internal estimating software – i.e Markman if applicable.
- Submit accurate and routine sales reports
- Preparation of PowerPoint presentations and subsequent Presentation skills to successfully explain KC offering/quotations to customers and follow up with additional information as required to complete the sale.
- Manages all commercial issues before and after the sale – Terms and conditions.
- Handles negotiations re: additions, changes and amendment to a customer request.
- Enter clean commercial and technical orders in a timely manner
- Assists with collections when requested.
- Assists with resolution of warranty issues when requested.
- ETO sales is a TEAM approach and it is essential to work as a team member with co-workers.
- Attend industry trade shows as applicable
- Desire to sell all the products that KNES has to offer from equipment thru service
- Ability to do regional planning to maximize customer growth and support
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering preferred of equivalent technical crane knowledge.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five years’ experience in overhead crane sales or product management/project management preferably in the application of heavy duty material handling equipment or have the aptitude to learn on a fast track, capital equipment sales. Knowledgeable in sales and estimating with a thorough understanding of reading drawings. Highly developed communication, sales organization, and estimating skills. Working knowledge of estimating and design software. Must be proficient in MS Office products.
