Company Description
Welcome to JYSK!
JYSK is a rapidly growing international retail organization with more than 3,000 stores across 50 countries. To support this growth from a logistics perspective, we are currently building our 10th Distribution Centre in Lelystad. Construction is well underway, and we expect the Distribution Centre to become operational in early 2027. Of course, that does not mean we are standing still until then. From our temporary Distribution Centre, we are already working hard to ensure a smooth transition to the new location.
Job Description
As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you play a key technical role within our distribution centre. The warehouse covers an area of 146,000 m² and features two integrated High Bay systems, each reaching 50 metres in height, with a total of 21 stacker cranes responsible for the automated storage and movement of pallets. In addition, the warehouse is equipped with four picking robots, five pick-and-pack stations, a Rail Guided Vehicle (RGV) loop system, an automated inbound pallet receiving system and a layer picker. This combination of advanced technologies makes our distribution centre a complex, highly automated logistics environment where reliability, operational continuity and efficiency are key priorities.
With at least five years of experience working with automated systems, you are able to independently analyse and resolve complex technical faults. You look beyond immediate issues and actively contribute ideas for structural improvements, reliability and efficiency.
You also play an important role in transferring knowledge to your colleagues. You mentor and train other technicians, share your practical experience and contribute to the continued development of the technical team.
You work closely with the Technical Department, other departments within the distribution centre and colleagues at other JYSK distribution centres. Depending on operational needs, you will work either day shifts or a two-shift rotation. Working hours will be agreed upon in consultation.
Your responsibilities as a Senior Maintenance Technician are:
- Carrying out and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance on automated warehouse systems.
- Independently analysing and resolving complex faults in automation systems and electromechanical installations.
- Performing tasks related to the implementation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the automated High Bay system.
- Working with and maintaining crane systems within automated warehouse environments.
- Monitoring the availability, reliability and continuity of technical installations.
- Training, mentoring and supporting fellow technicians with technical tasks, fault analysis and maintenance procedures.
- Acting as a technical point of contact for colleagues and contributing to the development of technical knowledge within the team.
- Analysing recurring faults and initiating long-term, structural improvements.
- Identifying and implementing improvements in safety, efficiency and cost control.
- Contributing ideas for new technical solutions and optimising maintenance processes.
- Actively contributing to a safe working environment and complying with applicable Health & Safety and fire safety procedures.
Qualifications
- A completed technical qualification or demonstrable relevant work experience in electrical engineering, mechatronics, industrial automation or a comparable field.
- At least five years of relevant experience working with automated systems, preferably in a logistics, industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrable experience with crane installations, preferably cranes used in automated warehouse systems.
- Good knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance, with experience analysing and resolving complex technical faults.
- Experience mentoring, instructing and training colleagues, or the motivation and skills to take a leading role in this area.
- An analytical and solution-oriented mindset, focusing not only on resolving faults but also on identifying their underlying causes.
- An eye for technical improvements, process optimisation and cost control.
- A strong safety awareness and the discipline to ensure compliance with procedures and the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- A proactive, independent and flexible approach to work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical knowledge clearly to others.
- Willingness to travel locally and attend meetings as required.
- No fear of heights and a willingness to work at height when necessary.
- You act in accordance with JYSK Values and Safety, take responsibility and lead by example.
