Job Description
J.S. Held’s Complex Accounting & Litigation team is seeking a seasoned and entrepreneurial Managing Director to expand our forensic accounting and litigation consulting services. This is a senior leadership role for a professional with deep experience in audit, forensic accounting and/or complex investigations and litigation —paired with a strong track record of working with high-performing teams, developing people and helping to grow a book of business.
As a Managing Director, you will play a role in shaping the strategic direction of the practice, leading high-impact engagements, mentoring talent, and cultivating long-term client relationships across industries and geographies.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Team Development
- Work with other senior leaders to mentor and grow a team of investigative professionals.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on quality, innovation, and client service.
- Support internal knowledge sharing, training, and professional development initiatives.
Client Engagement & Project Oversight
- Oversee and execute complex, forensic accounting, investigations and expert witness engagements.
- Guide the development of client deliverables including reports, presentations, and data visualizations.
- Serve as a senior point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and strategic insight.
Business Development & Market Expansion
- Expand your book of business and contribute to the growth of the Complex Accounting & Litigation Practice.
- Work with other leaders to develop and implement go-to-market strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships with law firms, financial institutions, and corporate clients.
- Represent J.S. Held at industry events, conferences, and client engagements.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in investigative consulting, audit or forensic advisory roles.
- Proven leadership experience with a focus on team development and client delivery.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex findings into clear, actionable insights.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working across jurisdictions and regulatory environments.
- Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management.
Physical and Mental Job Qualifications
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position during work shift.
- Ability to travel as needed.

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $200,000 - $300,000. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, management responsibility, etc.
