Job Description

We are eagerly searching for an engineer to assist with a Newport Beach top-tier construction company.This is a 6 month contract position and great for aspiring engineers to gain valuable industry experience.Job duties include but not limited to:


Compile and maintain control records and related files to release blueprints, drawings, and engineering documents to manufacturing and other operating departments

Examine documents such as blueprints, drawings, change orders, and specifications to verify completeness and accuracy of data

Confer with document originators or engineering liaison personnel to resolve discrepancies and compiles required changes to documents

Post changes to computerized or manual control records, releases documents, and notifies affected departments

Work closely with Job Foreman and Project Manager

Perform daily review and analysis of all job data, comparing time, activity and costs reported to the work plan and budget, determining critical path progress and making recommendations on how to address variances

Thoroughly review and develop full working knowledge of contract documents, project plans, specifications, geotechnical information and permits

Development of this full working knowledge is critical as this is the person to whom Foremen, Project Managers, and others turn for this information

Generate and tracks all project documentation such as submittals, change management documentation, daily reports and quality reporting

Coordinates with and schedules the activity of all sub-contractors and material and equipment providers

Performs all project work planning and scheduling, including the creation and review of the pre-activity work plan, critical path schedule, and detailed look-ahead schedule

Qualifications

Strong Excel and PDF skills

Strong interpersonal skills & organizational skills

College Diploma required with engineering background or relevant work experience

Active team player with positive attitude

Excellent communication skills with solid written skills

High level of computer proficiency

Excellent time management, problem solving and organizational skills

Ability to make independent decisions and judgments regarding work priorities

Capable of working independently in a fast paced environment

Ability to juggle multiple tasks

Quick and competent learner

Highly motivated.
