Job Description
HSE:
Strict application and respect of TOTAL Group HSE rules and procedures, being pro-active on this matter by participating actively to the “stop card” system and by reporting all incidents, accidents and/or potentially dangerous situation observed. For that he/she shall:
- Have all HSE and medical certificates updated, and complete all HSE trainings required;
- Complete the 12 Golden Rules training (obtain the certificates) and participate regularly in the GR campaigns;
- Contributes actively to the development of the safety culture within the operational team onshore/offshore
- Key contributor for the proper respect of all safety procedures and orders applicable to all service companies personnel under his supervision;
- Contribute to the safety of operations through efficient implementation, integration and interpretation of real time detection techniques;
- Co-organizing risk assessments, pre-job meetings, prepare and review procedures especially regarding specific operations;
- Collect and share all safety alerts, incidents and/or accidents reports issued by offshore crews and service companies;
-Conduct, with help of SUB HSE coordinator, HSE & Technical annual visits/audits on service companies units (offshore) and bases (onshore);
Supervision of Geological Operations (including Geoscience personnel offshore):
Supervise Geological Operations of a rig (for Exploration, Appraisal & Development wells) on daily basis. This includes (but not limited to) well preparation, operations & acquisition program follow-up, coordination/supervision of contracted services and performances (crews and equipments), real-time data QA/QC, basic real-time petrophysical interpretation and post well analysis. For that he/she shall:
- Key contributor in well preparation (WSOR) process, participating actively in the preparation and redaction of all related documents (WSOR, well proposals...) in coordination with other Assets (G&G, Drilling...) especially for the well preliminary/prognosis pore pressure profile and data acquisition programs (including acquisition timing estimation, WSOR Memo writing and dispatching).
Qualifications
Qualification level required for the position : Level 7 = Master’s or equivalent level
Technical skills required for the position : -Well/pad planning. -High-level real time monitoring of operations. -Formation evaluation competency, including interpretation skills. -Advanced geosteering capability. -Pore pressure and geomechanics understanding to identify stability risks and hazards. -Robust data acquisition planning for LWD, wireline, and sampling programs. -High-quality geological reporting. -Operational risk and uncertainty management. -Technical oversight of service companies. -Digital systems competence (Gravitas, COP Toolbox). -REX elaboration and communication.
Behavioral competencies required for the position : They should possess the following soft skills (but not limited to): -Clear and authoritative communication with drilling teams, wellsite staff, and geoscience stakeholders. -High situational awareness to anticipate geological or operational risks before they escalate. -Decisive judgement under uncertainty. -Cross disciplinary coordination of stakeholders. -Analytical problem solving. -Effective stakeholder management. -Adaptability to operational changes and evolving drilling conditions. -Time management to prioritize monitoring, reporting, and communication tasks. -Supportive coaching mindset to guide wellsite geologists and junior staff. -Proactivity.
Language skills required for the position : Fluent in English (French and Portuguese being an advantage)
Certification required for the position : Certification Degree in the supervision of Operations Geology as per CR EP GLO 005 requirements
Specific knowledge required for the position : -Wireline Logging physics and use -Logging While Drilling physics and use (Open
Hole and cased Hole) -Mudlogging physics and use -Pore Pressure principles and estimation -Deep Offshore Drilling Technologies Petrophysical formation evaluation -TTE Company rules and guide lines -TTE Reporting Standards - Contract management and invoicing
- Level of experience required for the position : At least 3-5 years in operations geology domain, of which at least 2 as a wellsite geologist; Deep Offshore drilling experience, including HPHT, deviated/horizontal complex wells is also required.
