We are currently looking for a Site Electrical Engineer to support a major onshore LNG project in Mozambique.

Job Description

The Site Electrical Engineer will be responsible for supporting LV, MV, and HV electrical engineering and construction activities on site, ensuring technical integrity, compliance with project specifications, safe execution, and a smooth transition to commissioning.

Key responsibilities :

• Provide technical support for all electrical matters on site
• Ensure proper interpretation and implementation of electrical engineering deliverables, including SLDs, load lists, cable schedules, electrical layouts, grounding drawings, protection philosophies, and hazardous area classifications
• Respond to Technical Queries, Deviation Requests, Concession Requests, and NCRs
• Verify design compliance with project specifications, IEC/IEEE standards, and applicable regulations
• Support construction activities related to cable installation, terminations, panels, transformers, motors, MCCs, UPS/IPS, lighting, earthing networks, and substations
• Review ITPs, method statements, checklists, and test procedures
• Participate in inspections, joint walkdowns, and electrical testing activities
• Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including pre-energisation checks, functional tests, test pack verification, punch closure, and energization readiness reviews
• Interface with Civil, Mechanical, Instrumentation, QA/QC, HSE, Commissioning teams, contractors, and vendors
• Promote electrical safety rules, including LOTO, PTW, and HV/LV isolation procedures
• Contribute to as-built documentation and turnover dossiers for mechanical completion and pre-commissioning

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree, preferably with HV/LV specialization
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering on major Oil & Gas projects, ideally LNG
• Strong knowledge of MV/LV/HV power generation and distribution systems
• Expertise in transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS/IPS, motors, lighting, earthing/grounding networks, and Ex equipment
• Strong understanding of protection and control systems, relay coordination, and electrical safety regimes
• Experience in electrical testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and energization readiness reviews
• Solid knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards and major operator specifications
• Ability to read and interpret SLDs, load lists, cable schedules, electrical layouts, grounding drawings, and hazardous area classification drawings
• Experience with TQ, DER, NCR, ITPs, method statements, and test procedures
• Strong HSE culture and experience with site construction workflows
• Fluent English is required; Portuguese and/or French would be beneficial
• Ability to work in a multicultural, remote site environment
