This assignment is part of a large-scale LNG development in Mozambique, one of the most strategic energy projects in Africa, involving complex offshore installation activities, subsea infrastructure and high-value pipeline systems.

You will be working in a demanding, multicultural and technically advanced environment, where quality, safety, technical integrity and operational excellence are key priorities. This is a unique opportunity to take part in a landmark offshore LNG project and support the successful execution of critical pipeline installation operations.

Job Description

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and coordinate the Quality Inspectors on board the offshore vessel
  • Drive Quality Performance Monitoring, including quality indicators, KPI dashboards and reporting
  • Develop and implement, when required, procedures and Inspection Test Plans / ITPs
  • Ensure technical integrity, quality compliance and alignment with project requirements
  • Verify that engineering issues are properly addressed in accordance with project specifications, codes, standards, classification rules and regulations
  • Support the Upstream Quality Manager during surveillance audits and inspections
  • Ensure integrity assurance and contract compliance throughout offshore installation activities
  • Review final documentation and quality records required for the Dispatch Dossier and Manufacturing Record Book / MRB
  • Prepare and issue the weekly quality report
  • Participate in weekly quality meetings
  • Raise, monitor and support the closure of NCRs, ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions
  • Support punch list identification and follow-up
  • Contribute to the project lessons learned process and ensure implementation of feedback
  • Interface with other disciplines on board to ensure safe, compliant and on-time execution of the work
  • Ensure contractor activities are performed in line with project standards and specifications
  • Provide feedback and lessons learned to the client’s headquarters

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or another relevant technical qualification
  • Advanced degree or professional quality certifications would be an advantage
  • Minimum 20 years of experience in Oil & Gas
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance leadership roles
  • Strong background in offshore pipeline installation, pipelay operations and quality control
  • Proven experience on board offshore installation vessels, ideally with offshore installation contractors
  • Strong knowledge of ITPs, NCR management, MRB, quality records, audits and surveillance inspections
  • Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced offshore environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage inspectors and coordinate multiple interfaces
  • Ability to work effectively within a small, flexible and multicultural team
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with multiple disciplines and contractors
  • Fluency in English is mandatory
  • Valid BOSIET certification required prior to offshore mobilization
  • Valid OGUK Medical certification required prior to offshore mobilization
