Job Description

MAXISIQ is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer, with an emphasis in Linux-based systems and Splunk, but optimally with experience in a variety of other operating systems and platforms to support team operations in Quantico, VA. We are evaluating candidates on a continual basis for full-time openings on the horizon. Candidates with a minimum Top-Secret clearance need only apply. CI poly will be administered upon hiring.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Providing enterprise virtualized environment support by providing high-end engineering; support Windows, and Linux workstations and Server-based services; and deployment and maintenance of systems supporting our customers
  • Maintaining Splunk with Enterprise Security, keeping up to date and healthy, validating data inputs and dashboard creation and maintenance.
  • Providing Active Directory/LDAP, DNS, Certificate Authority, Smart Card/PIV, Single Sign On, and other enterprise services
  • Providing input to key project decisions with regard to success criteria for system requirements, design, testing methods, and delivery activities
  • Actively communicating with key program stakeholders regarding status of activities and potential recommendations for improvement regarding the customer's network and systems
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting issues within the deployed systems
  • Planning, designing, developing and recommending enhancements and modifications to existing systems as well as any new systems scheduled for development
  • Supporting management activities to include patch management and backups across deployed systems
  • Serving as key point of contact with regard to developing, recommending, implementing and testing disaster recovery plans

Mentoring junior staff to proactively diagnose and resolve complex problems

Qualifications

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (Or equivalent experience)

Security Clearance:

  • Top Secret with CI Poly requirement after hire

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years related experience
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server operating systems in addition to virtualization technologies such as VMware, Proxmox, KVM, Xen
  • Hands-on Windows based engineering: designing, building and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience applying and working with Windows Group Policy Objectives (GPOs)
  • Experience working with Windows Domain structures
  • Experience with DNS, DHCP, Certificate Authorities
  • Experience administering Linux in an enterprise
  • Hands-on experience with Linux operating systems
  • Systems integration and troubleshooting experience
  • Build and configuration management experience to include Patch Management experience
  • DISA STIG implementation experience
  • Knowledge or familiarity with DevSecOps
  • Knowledgeable about Cloud Technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Creative problem solving
  • Ability to remain on task - self-motivated and a strong communicator

Preferred Experience:

  • Hands-on VMware and Proxmox engineering preferred: design, build and troubleshoot
  • Interest in managing task assignment and completion across multiple engineers
