Primary Function of Position
The Sourcing Director, APAC will define and lead the regional sourcing strategy for Intuitive Surgical, ensuring alignment with global sourcing objectives while driving innovation, cost optimization, and operational excellence across APAC. This role will oversee strategic sourcing initiatives for indirect categories such as construction, facilities management, professional services, and logistics, delivering measurable value and mitigating risk. The Director will partner
with senior business leaders to influence decisions that shape Intuitive’s growth in the region.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing Leadership

• Develop and execute a regional sourcing vision and roadmap aligned with global sourcing strategy.
• Lead complex, high-value sourcing projects across APAC, ensuring competitive advantage and compliance.
• Drive innovation and supplier collaboration to support business growth and operational excellence

Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as a trusted advisor to APAC leadership, influencing strategic decisions on sourcing priorities.
• Partner with global sourcing teams to ensure consistency and alignment with global category strategies.
• Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Finance, Operations, and Facilities.

Supplier Strategy & Performance

• Establish and maintain strategic supplier partnerships to enable innovation and resilience.
• Oversee supplier performance governance, risk management, and compliance across APAC.
• Anticipate market trends and proactively adjust sourcing strategies to maintain cost efficiency and mitigate risks.

Financial & Operational Impact

• Deliver measurable cost savings, risk reduction, and operational improvements through strategic sourcing.
• Provide executive-level reporting on sourcing performance, market insights, and strategic initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

• 15+ years of experience, with at least 10 years in sourcing leadership roles.
• Proven track record of leading regional or global sourcing strategies in complex, multi- country environments.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills at executive level.
• Strong change management experience, driving sourcing transformation across diverse cultures and geographies.
• Expertise in strategic negotiations, contract governance, and supplier relationship management.
• Ability to shape sourcing strategy, not just execute projects.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Language

• Fluent in English; proficiency in an Asian language is a plus.
