Job Description

Duties

  • Sorting and handling mail delivered to the corporate office.
  • Working returned statements due to bad address.
  • Gathering patient medical records to send when requests are received.
  • Printing and mailing paper claims, appeals, & statements to assist the patient collection process.
  • Review and resolve credit card payments received in the office.
  • Depositing checks & scanning related correspondence to the proper area.
  • Complete additional printing and scanning as necessary.

  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with team members and patients.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. 
  • Problem-solving skills to address billing issues and discrepancies.

Job Type:

  • Full-time

 

Experience:

  • Two years’ experience, in a medical office or equivalent, dealing with medical insurance billing, medical terminology, coding, charge entry and payment collection is preferred.
  •  Proficiency in MS Office; tech savvy, familiar with standard business office equipment, i.e., copier, fax, printer/scanner proficiency required.
  • Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with regulations such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).

 

Education:

• High School Diploma
