Job Description

The primary role of the Operations Analyst/Planner is to convert demand for all TCIC remanufactured and outsourced products into the forecasts, production schedules, and shop orders necessary to fulfill those demands. 

Reports directly to the Vice President of Operations.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

If needed, assist in creating procedures for the testing and implementation of all functions for production control planning and manufacturing in IFS.

Knowledgeable in all IFS procedures, documents, and reports to support manufacturing, purchasing, accounting, inventory control, and engineering.

Coordinate and communicate with other support departments to ensure manufacturing has all the required directions and documents needed to fulfill production demands.  Departments include:  marketing & sales, accounting, purchasing, engineering, quality, manufacturing, warehouse, etc.

Create and maintain forecasts on all raw materials, tools, equipment, and finished goods to support manufacturing build schedule and distribution of both remanufactured and outsourced products.  This may include reviewing and releasing purchase requisitions on those required raw materials.

Plan, schedule, and release shop orders for manufacturing to support the production build schedule.  Must expedite any function when required to support both the build schedule and/or any change from a customer order.

Assist in maintaining the integrity of all shop orders related to accurate counts and cartridge type.

Assist in creating and maintaining the inventory part planning data, MRP order code, costs, default location, etc. by initiating a “Change Request Form” through document management.

Assist in creating and maintaining all product structures in IFS to reflect any engineer and/or design changes.  Assist in the disposition of all materials on released shop orders, inventory balances in warehouses or department created from the change.

Keep management informed of any production concerns, labor and material shortages, backlogs, engineer changes, and other potential schedule interruptions.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:  High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).  Prefer a bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field or the equivalent experience in a manufacturing structure.  It is desirable to be familiar with a fully integrated computer software system.  APICS certification is a plus or must be open to become APICS certified.  Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Excel and Access database manipulation.

Skills:  The ability to communicate effectively and work well with others.  Must be extremely organized, and able to work at a steady pace.  Must have the ability to stay focused, while multitasking and to utilizing advanced problem-solving skills. Position requires high emphasis on reliability and detail.
