Job Description

We are looking for an Application Support Engineer to join the WM APS team, responsible for ensuring the stability and performance of critical banking applications.

This role involves handling incidents, service requests, and ongoing application support activities within a shift-based and on-call rotation model. The successful candidate will also contribute to service improvement initiatives and support Disaster Recovery (DR) and live play exercises.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of core banking operations, excellent troubleshooting skills, and hands-on experience in L1/L2 support within a banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve incidents and service requests in a timely manner
  • Perform application support activities within shift and on-call rotations
  • Contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives
  • Support Disaster Recovery (DR) drills and live play activities
  • Build and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code:
    • Ansible playbooks
    • Terraform scripts
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployments
  • Support containerization of legacy applications
  • Collaborate with operations teams and provide training on:
    • Ansible
    • Terraform
    • Kubernetes
  • Ensure efficient provisioning, configuration, deployment, and DR readiness

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Linux (platform and CLI)
  • Experience with scripting (Python and/or Bash preferred)
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Travis, Concourse)
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools:
    • Ansible
    • Terraform
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration:
    • Docker
    • Kubernetes (K8s)
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace)
  • Knowledge of PL/SQL
  • Experience with public cloud platforms (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in IT Operations or Software Engineering
  • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience with a cloud provider (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience with Ansible and Docker

Relevant Certifications (preferred but not mandatory):

  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation (RH294)
  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
  • Red Hat Advanced Automation with Ansible (DO374)
