Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the design, development, testing, and refinement of electrical systems and tools within the IMRIS solution and portfolio. The successful candidate will be capable of providing strong technical leadership on new development projects, while assisting in sustaining currently manufactured products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the design and development of electrical components of IMRIS solution within current portfolio and expanding  product line
  • Manage and complete Design Control Documentation: Risk Management, Verification and Validation Plans and Protocols. Ensure compliance with QMS and global standards and regulatory requirements
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams of design: mechanical, software, RF and systems to create and/or improve products
  • Support the execution of engineering changes, lifecycle changes and/or document changes prior to release
  • Develop, implement and debug electrical issues
  • Improve performance reliability and reusability of existing electrical systems
  • Effectively manage project deliverables and daily tasks and participate as the innovative leader on the electrical parts of all IMRIS products and solutions
  • Applies advanced electrical knowledge in order to develop, enhance and maintain the foundation for large, complex projects
  • Leads on R&D derived requirements for electrical devices early in the design cycle
  • Ensures comprehensive verification to project requirements and validation to customer needs is performed and documented

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • B.S. degree in electrical engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years’ industry experience as a developer of durable medical products is preferred.
  • Experience designing motion control automation for complex low volume durable products
  • Experience with PLC, analog and digital control systems
  • Some project leadership experience (able to own projects and deliverables experience leading teams of 2-5 people)
  • Circuit and wiring designs and shielding in high energy environments
  • Demonstrated experience providing complaint support and sustaining engineering design support for released products.
  • Experienced electrical design in electro-mechanical, embedded systems a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in and comfortable with all phases of the product development lifecycle including design, implementation, debug, verification, validation, and transfer to manufacturing; comfortable with concepts of design input, design output, traceability, and risk analysis
  • Demonstrates advanced understanding of EE techniques in order to produce highly efficient implementations with of the projected device.
  • Applies advanced knowledge of the principles and application of EE standards and the methods and guidelines designing and testing PCBs and other electrical components
