Job Description

  • Positions Objective:
    • Supervise real-time operation of the wind turbines, display the status and alarms, with control functions over wind turbines in addition to the existing local controls at the base of the turbine, daily reports and others ad hoc tasks.

 

  • Principal Responsibilities:
      • Remote control and surveillance of operation turbines.
      • Remote faultfinding and corrective actions to get turbines back online.
      • Control ENTRANCE/EXIT in wind turbines and register.
      • First line technical support to service technicians and teams.
      • Raise and close Service Reports in EAM system on remote activities.
      • Proactively analysis of turbine performance and product health analysis to enhance performance.
      • Analyze and send out daily performance reports.
      • Analyze and provide monthly customer performance reports.
      • Others reports necessary (diagnosis, performances, others)
      • Use knowledge and available information to minimize downtime in a safe and prudent fashion.
      • Follow procedures to control power generation equipment including the restart, shut down and initial troubleshooting of the wind turbines.
      • Maintain accurate logs of all activities. Including accurate handovers to ensure the oncoming shift is aware of all relevant issues and directives.
      • Classify/confirm downtime events into categories for accurate reporting and record keeping.
      • Actively monitor site level details, scanning for under-performance or emerging issues. This includes degradation analysis of equipment and performance data.

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Formation: 
    • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Power Plant Engineering, or similar .
    • Or, have significant experience from a similar position from a surveillance center

 

  • Languages & Experience:
    • 3 years of experience in within the wind industry
    • Experience in maintenance and management of SCADA systems
    • Experience working with communication protocols
    • Good communication skills in both English and Spanish

 

  • Qualifications
    • The ability to work in multicultural teams and adapt easily to different cultures is a must
    • “Can do” attitude with attention to detail and determination to achieve company targets within timelines and budgets
    • Ability to accurately follow detailed procedures to the letter in a highly pressured environment, while retaining the ability to think for one’s self and make crucial decisions as needed
    • Prior experience with computers including all Microsoft Office products like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, data bases as well.
    • Ability to work proactively and productively with limited supervision
    • Willingness to work a rotating shift schedule
    • Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must be a good communicator, strong technical background and diagnostic capabilities.

    • Comfortable with a work environment that is fast paced and changes quickly
    • Ability to work within a team with a positive attitude
    • Enthusiastic about the renewable energy industry
    • Good team player capabilities.
    • Proven knowledge in process control and energy management systems, as related to the Wind Energy Business will be a plus
