ABOUT THE POSITION

Our client is in dire need of a true-blooded money guy/gal (read: C&B professional) to be part of their highly-charged HR Team in Japan. This position will be the primary point-of-contact and subject matter expert for all C&B-related matters, issues, and policies for the company.

The lucky guy/gal will perform deep analysis on effectiveness and competitiveness of existing C&B programs and model potential impact of alternatives. S/he will effectively partner with HR colleagues and Business clients to manage, consult on C&B-related issues as well as provide guidance to the business and develop creative solutions on a variety of total compensation issues including the setting of appropriate pay levels, base pay, annual incentive pay and stock compensation.

The position holder will also plan, develop, and even re-design benefit programs and analyze benefit costs; perform ad hoc analysis for costing, program effectiveness and trend purposes; conduct competitive compensation benchmarking surveys, job matching, job evaluations using market data and internal evaluation, and partner with regional or global C&B counterparts to address or enhance any C&B programs or policies.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate will not only have full bilingual skills (J/E) but more importantly someone with effective communication style  that demonstrate business acumen; able to seek out information, clearly communicate information and requests and provide quality advice to stakeholders as well as a a highly detail-driven person with emphasis on accuracy, coupled with the ability to see the "big" picture. The perfect individual will also have good understanding of the fundamentals, principles, and practices of compensation and benefits systems and legislation in Japan as well as basic or working knowledge of applicable taxation laws in Japan.

A background in project management as well as strong analytical problem solving skills and quantitative skills and a track record for planning, doing and auditing work and thee ability to systematically break down problems or processes into their parts and develop several alternative solutions will be keys to success in this role.
