Workforce Management Expert

  • Full-time

Job Description

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a Workforce Management Expert, you translate labour standards and labour demand into practical, store-ready workforce plans. Rather than managing day-to-day staffing, you design and evolve the workforce planning logic that determines how stores are staffed across markets and formats.

You will help define how customer demand, traffic patterns, operational workload and labour standards are translated into workforce requirements, ensuring staffing is realistic, compliant, fair and scalable.

You will:

  • Own and maintain the global WFM scheduling rulebook, defining how staffing and scheduling should be built
  • Ensure scheduling rules are aligned with global standards, local labour regulations and operational needs
  • Define standard rosters by store format and segment, including role mix and coverage by daypart
  • Translate customer demand, operational workload and labour hours into recommended staffing levels by role, skill and time of day
  • Create and maintain shift templates aligned with customer traffic patterns, demand peaks and operational rhythms across front of house, back of house and omnichannel operations
  • Define and evolve skill logic to reflect operational changes, productivity improvements and new store initiatives
  • Develop workforce planning logic that reflects store operations, customer flow and workload drivers across retail formats
  • Partner with Sales Markets to integrate local labour laws into global workforce planning standards
  • Collaborate closely with Labour Standards and Labour Demand Experts to ensure labour standards, workload assumptions and demand drivers are accurately reflected in staffing logic
  • Work with Tech and WFM product teams to translate planning rules into system configuration and algorithm inputs
  • Provide expert guidance and support to markets on workforce planning, staffing logic and scheduling principles
  • Support root-cause analysis and continuous improvement related to workforce productivity, staffing effectiveness and scheduling performance

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will work closely with Sales Markets, Labour Standards and Labour Demand teams, Tech and WFM product teams, as well as global Retail Operations and Controlling stakeholders. In this role, you act as a subject-matter expert and trusted partner, helping connect labour standards, workload drivers and operational realities with practical workforce planning solutions.

WHO YOU ARE

You are a structured and analytical expert who understands both the logic behind workforce planning and the realities of physical retail operations. You enjoy translating complex operational challenges into practical and scalable workforce planning solutions.

We are looking for people with:

  • Deep experience within workforce planning, workforce design, scheduling optimisation or WFM systems
  • Strong understanding of retail, logistics, field operations or other customer-facing operational environments where staffing is driven by workload, customer demand and operational activities
  • Experience translating demand drivers, workload assumptions or productivity standards into staffing requirements and scheduling rules
  • Strong understanding of operational planning, workforce deployment and labour productivity
  • Solid knowledge of labour regulations and scheduling compliance requirements
  • Experience translating analytical models, operational rules or workforce logic into practical guidance and scalable ways of working
  • Strong documentation skills and high attention to detail
  • Confidence working cross-functionally and influencing without formal authority
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
