Labor Demand Expert

  • Full-time

Job Description

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a Labour Demand Expert, you own the logic that translates store demand signals into workload and labour hours.

Rather than forecasting sales or managing staffing plans directly, you build and continuously improve the global labour demand model that determines how operational demand is converted into workload requirements across our retail environments.

You ensure labour allocation is data-driven, fair and aligned with both commercial and operational realities across store formats, customer missions and markets.

You will:

  • Own and continuously develop the end-to-end labour demand model, translating customer demand, operational activities and workload drivers into labour hours
  • Define how demand signals such as customer traffic, transactions, deliveries, omnichannel activity and operational complexity translate into workload requirements
  • Ensure the model reflects real store activity patterns and evolves with changes in customer behaviour, omnichannel flows and operating models
  • Define, document and maintain assumptions, scaling rules and calculation logic in a clear and structured way
  • Build logic for daily, weekly and seasonal variation, including store-type, format and size scaling factors
  • Analyse relationships between demand, workload, productivity and labour consumption to improve model accuracy
  • Support scenario modelling to assess labour impacts of new store formats, omnichannel initiatives, operational changes and productivity improvements
  • Partner closely with Labour Standards and Workforce Management experts to ensure demand logic translates effectively into labour standards, staffing recommendations and workforce planning outputs
  • Act as a subject matter expert on labour demand logic, supporting both technical and non-technical stakeholders

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will work closely with Controlling, Operations Development, Labour Standards, Workforce Management, Tech and Product teams, as well as global teams and Sales Markets.

In this role, you act as a key link between customer demand, operational workload and labour planning, ensuring labour demand logic is understood, consistently applied and scalable across markets.

WHO YOU ARE

You are an analytical and structured problem-solver who enjoys understanding how operational demand creates work. You are comfortable building models, analysing complex drivers and translating operational reality into scalable planning logic.

We are looking for people with:

  • Experience in labour demand modelling, operational analytics, workforce planning, capacity planning, operational modelling or workload forecasting
  • Experience translating demand drivers, customer activity, workload patterns or operational volume into labour requirements
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills with the ability to work with large and complex datasets
  • Experience building, documenting and maintaining operational models, assumptions and calculation logic
  • Understanding of customer-driven operational environments such as retail, logistics, delivery operations, fulfilment, warehousing or similar high-volume operations
  • Strong understanding of operational drivers such as customer traffic, transactions, deliveries, workloads, productivity factors and omnichannel flows
  • Experience translating complex models and assumptions into practical guidance for business stakeholders
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
