Highlight is seeking a STO Training Officer to coordinate Special Technical Operations (STO) training for the Joint Training / Joint Exercise Division STO Office in the Suffolk, VA complex. He/She will coordinate and support Joint and Coalition STO training through the JS J7 STO Planner’s Course by providing instruction to the students, conducting briefings, and providing hands on training; ensuring students are properly accessed; preparing and maintaining all course materials; assist in the control and accountability for all classified and course material; and assist in SAP Manager level I and II evaluations.
He/She will be responsible for the planning, development, coordination, execution, and evaluation of STO training and planning courses and material and will assist the government at training events with the integration of multi-level classifications involving sensitive military capabilities during planning courses and Joint exercises. He/She will ensure all JS J7 indoctrinated personnel are trained and educated on STO security policies, procedures, user requirements and reporting responsibilities.
He/She will assist with the planning, development, coordination, execution, and evaluation of all components of STO interaction/and replication in all assigned JS J7 exercises throughout the Joint Exercise Life Cycle. Assist STO Planners to define the scope, interface requirements, policy issues, performance criteria, and the development of exercise milestones. He/She will work with STO Planners to define the: scope, interface requirements, policy issues, performance criteria, and the development of exercise milestones. This person will be available to participate at key exercise development meetings and planning conferences to assist in the design and coordination of the exercise to ensure that the STO training objectives of the training audience are met.
The individual selected for this position must be able to effectively communicate in multiple settings (one-on-one, small group leader, classroom, and auditorium) with a variety of individuals (company and field grade officers, senior NCO, Flag officers, SES, civilian employees).
- Current Top-Secret/SCI Eligibility
- 7 to 10 years of relevant experience working within a SCI or SAP environment, which includes least 2-3 years of experience in DoD as an Action Officer or STO Planner or STO Trainer.
- Must be able and willing to travel CONUS and OCONUS (up to 20%).
- Bachelor’s Degree
- STO Planners Course
- STO Planning and Decision Aid (PDAS) Operators Course
