Job Description

This job is a composite of CAD support services as well as Construction Project Management duties. Draft and produce clear and technically accurate dimensional drawings and layouts for construction projects. 

Gather input from the facility manager. Make field surveys to investigate existing layouts and conditions. Ensure conformance with NFPA codes, JCAHO standards, safety standards, etc. Coordinate with facility infection control officers and safety officers. Report compliance issues. Monitor construction contractor quality control activities and makes appropriate recommendations. Provide staff coordination/notification of and be present at utility outages. Participate in pre-construction, in-progress-reviews, and other meetings. Coordinate with various stakeholders to include Facilities, Logistics, Med Maintenance, the construction contractor, Regional Facilities staff, DPW PM staff, and project-related Corps of Engineers staff. Execute QA functions: review schedules, work performance quality, safety oversight, coordination effectiveness, and perform documentation reviews. Participate in final on-site inspections and make recommendations for corrective action. Participate in facility meetings; environment of care, space utilization, and facility update meetings.

Qualifications

 

    • 3+ years’ experience utilizing AutoCAD for vertical building projects

    • 5+ years' construction project management experience on large scale projects 

    • 2+ years healthcare, laboratory or research facility construction experience 

    • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of mechanical systems such as HVAC, Domestic Water, Heating Hot Water, Chilled Water, Steam, and Electrical systems 

    • Knowledge of TJC, NFPA, ASHRE, Life Safety, Infection Control, and related medical facility regulations, codes and standards 

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

    • Strong organization and time management skills 

    • Working proficiency on MS Office Suite 

    • Experience on federal government projects preferred
