Job Description

Provide support for the repair and construction of US Army medical facilities. Duties may include: 

Evaluate schedules, work performance quality, safety oversight, coordination effectiveness, and perform documentation reviews for all repair and construction work in progress or in planning stages at above-referenced facilities, and reports to COR or other appropriate Government officials. Ensure conformance with NFPA codes, JCAHO standards, safety standards, and other agency criteria. Coordinate with facility infection control officers to insure compliance. Coordinate with facility safety officers to implement effective safety policies. Report compliance issues to COR or other applicable Government official for action by the Government. Monitor construction contractor quality control activities and makes appropriate recommendations to COR for Government action. Participates in final on-site inspections of completed work. 

Meet with on-site contractors performing construction and adhere to the requirements of all USACE Quality Assurance Engineering Regulations, including but not limited to ER-1180-1-6 and all MEDCOM guidance on QA reporting. Provides timely coordination with hospital staff to ensure proper reviews and notification of projects and utility outages.Present at utility outages to provide engineering and contractor support. Attend and participate in pre-construction, staff, in-progress-reviews, and other project-related meetings, and provide reports as required. Coordinate with various stakeholders to include Facilities, Logistics, Med Maintenance, the construction contractor, Regional Facilities staff, DPW PM staff, and project-related Corps of Engineers staff. Provide a written weekly report of project status, as necessary.

Qualifications

•    5+ years’ construction QA/PM experience required
•    2+ years healthcare, laboratory or research facility construction experience
•    Knowledgeable through extensive experience with mechanical systems such as Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning, Domestic Water, Heating Hot Water, Chilled Water, Steam, and Electrical systems repairs
•    Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations including DOD construction criteria, TJC, NFPA, ASHRAE, Life Safety, Infection Control and all medical facility codes.
•    Ability to read and understand complex drawings/blueprints and interface with both contractors and end users/customers.
•    Ability to use independent judgment and work with minimal oversight.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•    Knowledgeable in MSOffice applications
•    Bachelors' in construction, engineering, business or related field preferred.
