Job Description
Anticipated Contract End Date/Length: 3 months
Work Set Up: Hybrid - 4 days onsite and 1 day remote
Our client in the global professional services industry is looking for a Scrum Master / Project Manager to enable high-performing delivery teams by fostering effective Agile practices and ceremonies, removing impediments, and ensuring alignment between day-to-day execution and programme-level governance. This role balances team leadership and delivery execution with the collaboration, predictability, and transparency required to support large-scale, regulated transformation initiatives.
The successful candidate will be a highly organised driver with exceptional coordination skills, capable of leading cross-functional teams while promoting accountability, continuous improvement, and adherence to governance, security, and quality standards throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and coach cross-functional delivery teams comprising Product, Design, Engineering, QA, and DevOps resources.
- Deliver agreed outcomes predictably while maintaining quality and alignment to programme objectives.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure Agile ceremonies remain outcome-focused and time-boxed.
- Act as the primary servant leader for the team and remove delivery impediments.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across delivery teams and workstreams.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and Business Analysts to ensure work is well-defined, prioritised, and ready for delivery.
- Monitor delivery progress and proactively manage dependencies, risks, and impediments.
- Support hybrid delivery models by aligning Agile delivery with waterfall milestones, stage gates, and release readiness activities where applicable.
- Own and manage RAID logs to ensure risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies are accurately captured and tracked.
- Maintain delivery data and reporting to support governance, decision-making, and stakeholder visibility.
- Promote adherence to security, quality, and regulatory standards throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and high performance across teams.
- Facilitate effective communication and alignment across business and technical stakeholders.
- Support project execution and delivery management activities to ensure successful programme outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant Agile and Scrum Master certification is required.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience working within software development environments as a Scrum Master with project management responsibilities.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience applying Agile methodologies within software development teams.
- Experience leading and enabling cross-functional delivery teams in complex environments.
- Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks, Scrum principles, and delivery governance practices.
- Experience managing RAID logs, dependencies, risks, and delivery reporting.
- Proficiency with collaboration and project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Figma.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and delivery methodologies.
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional organisational, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Banking industry experience is preferred and would be advantageous.
