The Smart Water team plays a key role in helping communities understand and value water as a precious resource. As a Smart Water Engagement Advisor, you'll deliver education and engagement programmes that inspire residents to use water wisely, adopt water-saving behaviours, and contribute to a more sustainable future for our region.

We're looking for two enthusiastic Engagement Assistants to deliver community events that promote water conservation.

In this hands-on role, you'll work mainly on weekends setting up and running a stand at community events. You will be engaging with the community about the importance of saving water and representing Smart Water in a friendly and professional manner.

Your day will involve transporting, packing, setting up, manning and packing down all equipment needed to run a market stall.

We’re looking for two casual Smart Water Engagement Assistants to join our Shared Services team. If you think it could be you, let’s talk. For this role, you must have: 

  • Full clean drivers’ licence. 
  • Studying or passionate about water sustainability. 
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays when required. 

What will I be part of? 

You’ll attend community events in Hamilton City and the Waikato region to engage and educate the community on why water is a precious resource and how we can go about saving water in our homes. 

Some of the key outcomes for this role include: 

  • Attend community events in Hamilton and the Waikato region to deliver our Smart Water message to the community. This is mainly weekend work.
  • Generating conversations with members of the community about water conservation and water alert levels.
  • Able to communicate with a wide variety of people, comfortable and confident starting conversations.
  • Transporting, packing, setting up, manning and packing down all equipment needed to run a market stall.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety policies and procedures, enabling a safe and healthy work environment for all workers and members of the public.
  • Participate in health and safety training related to position activities.
  • Actively participate, comply and engage in all health and safety activities, policies, and practices including Civil Defence.

Qualifications

  • Studying or passionate about water sustainability.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • You must have a Full clean drivers’ licence.
  • Enjoys face to face engagement with customers.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Able to handle low level conflict professionally.
  • Can-do attitude.
  • Strong personal time management skills.
  • Comfortable transporting, setting up and packing away equipment for a market stall

Additional Information

An hourly rate of $30ph + holiday pay. You will also gain valuable experience within the sustainability space.
