Job Description
Griffith University Library operates five campus libraries across four campus locations and provides services and expertise to the Griffith University teaching, learning and research community. The Library Campus Services team works closely with clients and establishes and maintains strong relationships to deliver useful and timely products and services, and access to resources.
The Librarian (Client Experience) plays a key role in supporting both online and on-campus interactions, providing expert guidance to library staff and clients. Working collaboratively with two other librarians, the position supports Library Campus Services staff in the delivery of information services and contributes to the continuous improvement of user-focused services. The role works closely with the Coordinator and Library Campus Services Supervisors to ensure responsive, high-quality services that meet the evolving needs of the Griffith community.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver support for clients and library staff in accessing and using a range of library resources and services including first-tier referrals to services provided within Griffith University.
- Identify, develop and provide training to Library Campus Services staff in the delivery of information services and resources for complex client enquiries.
- Contribute to user-centric services in the development, implementation and review of services and systems by analysing and evaluating data.
- Proactively contribute to the development and documentation of policies, standards, protocols and procedures for delivery of quality services.
- Apply professional knowledge to present solutions which improve library services.
- Provide support and collaborate with other areas of the library to deliver small projects to enhance the client experience.
- Assist in the development and organising of engagement activities.
- Undertake regular personal and professional development to enhance knowledge and skills to enable a high level of service in a continuously changing environment.
About you
- Degree in Library and Information Science with the ability to demonstrate relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training which would allow professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to engage and collaborate with professional and academic staff and students.
What we can offer
This is continuing opportunity and is based at Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.
Base Salary HEW 5 in the range of $82,415 - $92,456 per annum plus 17% Superannuation. The salary including superannuation is in the range $96,426 -$108,174 per annum.
