Greencross Vets Cockburn is looking for an experienced full-time Head Veterinary Nurse to join our team. This is an opportunity to step into a leadership role within a busy, modern clinic where no two days are the same and teamwork is key.

About the role

As Head Nurse, you will play a key role in leading the nursing team while remaining hands-on in the day-to-day clinical work.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, mentoring, and supporting the nursing team
  • Working closely with vets to deliver high standards of patient care
  • Managing workflow in a busy clinic environment
  • Performing general nursing duties including surgical support, anaesthetic monitoring, pathology, and patient care
  • Assisting with minor procedures where required
  • Maintaining clinic hygiene and high clinical standards
  • Supporting operational improvements and team efficiency
  • Handling client enquiries professionally across phone, email, and in-person interactions

This is a full-time role where your leadership and clinical skills will both be valued and utilised.

Remuneration

We recognise the value that experienced and highly qualified nurses bring to the team. We offer competitive hourly rates, with higher pay available for nurses who hold advanced registration with the Veterinary Practice Board and bring a strong, demonstrated clinical skillset. We’re happy to have open conversations to ensure your pay reflects your experience and contribution.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
  • Has at least 2 years of clinical experience
  • Has strong surgical and anaesthetic monitoring skills
  • Is confident mentoring and guiding junior nurses
  • Communicates clearly and delivers excellent customer service
  • Works well both independently and as part of a team
  • Brings a calm, organised, and proactive approach
  • Has experience with RxWorks (desirable)
