Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer/Designer, with experience in on-site commissioning and contractor management.
 

The Electrical Engineer/Designer of Grantek’s Enterprise Solutions teams  is expected to use their technical background and knowledge to architect solutions, organize information. They will carry out varied electrical design assignments including the design, analysis, and testing of electrical control systems and quantification of hardware, plus writing technical documentation.
 

  • Design, develop, analyze, and specify electrical control systems and associated hardware, safety systems, and mechanical systems including pneumatic and hydraulic components.
  • Create bid and scope documents; assist in developing and drafting user and system design functional specifications.
  • Conduct risk assessments, procure materials, and manage basic logistics.
  • Develop specifications for panel fabrication.
  • Troubleshoot electrical installations according to project scope and complete commissioning summaries with client approval.
  • Perform routine technical surveys or inspections and prepare detailed reports.
  • Develop contractor schedules and work plans, conduct bidding meetings, and perform contractor walkthroughs, ensuring compliance with permits and site requirements.
  • Generate budgets and requirements for construction activities.
  • Monitor on-site subcontractors for safety compliance, quality of work, and budget adherence.
  • Assist in establishing guidelines, devising innovative approaches, applying existing criteria in new ways, and drawing conclusions from comparative situations. 
     
  • Plan, design, analyze, and specify electrical control systems while considering pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical considerations in accordance with safety standards and project prerequisites.
     
  • Design and test the electrical control systems and hardware within the designated practice group, as well as the development of essential technical documentation.
     
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical installation issues within the defined project scope, guaranteeing the seamless operation of systems and addressing any challenges promptly.

 

  • Take the lead on full-scale projects, overseeing contractor schedules, work plans, bid meetings, and conducting comprehensive contractor walkthroughs.

 

  • Coordinate and supervise the installation process, collaborating with subcontractors from various fields to ensure a seamless and integrated execution.

 

  • Assist in formulating budgets and requirements for construction activities, ensuring alignment with financial and operational objectives.

 

  • Provide on-site contractor management and deliver technical guidance throughout the commissioning phase, ensuring the successful implementation of the project.

 

Qualifications

  • Have been involved in automation projects including, design, solution delivery, and commissioning for at least 4 years.
  • Proven experience in designing and developing electrical control systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical installations and generating commissioning summaries.
  • Skilled in conducting technical surveys, preparing reports, and developing work plans.
  • Excellent people skills and strong communication ability.
  • Proficient at reading drawings and schematics.
  • Flexible with travel, b/w 30-50%.
