Get to Know the Team
The Commercial Strategy & Operations team is the engine that turns insights into outcomes across GrabFin and Deliveries (spanning GrabFood, GrabMart, GrabPay, PayLater, Lending and Insurance). We partner across the business to identify growth opportunities, design practical strategies, and lead end‑to‑end execution that scales.
Operating as advisors to regional and country leaders, our team runs the business planning cycles and GTM execution. We measure what matters, ensuring that we back every operational move with data and strictly align it with Grab's overarching sustainable growth goals.
Get to Know the Role
Reporting to the Head of Commercial Strategy & Operations, you will shape the strategic direction of our Financial Services and Omnicommerce verticals.
You will mentor a high-performing team to turn your strategies into tangible business impact. You will use analytical rigor and commercial planning to influence executive stakeholders both internally and externally.
Above all, you will be a trusted partner to leadership. When our challenges become messy or unpredictable, they will look to you to step in, cut through the noise, and bring structure and clarity.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Strategy & Commercial Planning: Drive the annual and half-yearly strategy for our Financial Services and Omnicommerce verticals. You will combine financial, product, and operational insights to translate commercial targets into roadmaps that optimize core products and/or incubate new models. Holding accountability for shared OKRs, you will ensure our operational execution strictly aligns with the bottom line.
- GTM Planning & Commercialization: Bring new business concepts to life by leading the Go-To-Market strategy and operational launch. You will balance high-level strategic vision with rigorous ground-level feasibility to ensure successful market adoption.
- Cross-Functional Program Ownership: Independently lead complex projects through cross functional collaboration. Own team's prioritization framework, allocating resources and clearing bottlenecks to ensure seamless delivery
- Executive Thought Partnership: Serve as a thought partner for country and regional Grab leadership. You will champion Malaysia's agenda, ensuring regional product roadmaps reflect on-the-ground realities.
- Performance Tracking & Analytical Insights: Monitor core business metrics and investigate anomalies. You will translate data into actionable problem statements
- Team Leadership: Manage, develop, and mentor your team, helping them grow both analytically and strategically.
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- Experience & Domain Expertise: 10–12 years in strategy, consulting, product, or program management at a tech company, financial services institution or similar fast-paced environment. We strongly prefer work experience in Financial Services (payments, credit, lending) or highly quantitative industries.
- Strategic & Analytical Rigour: Ability to frame problems with clear hypotheses, and to translate complex datasets into strategic insights & decisions. Proven experience driving P&L impact - whether through revenue, cost savings, or efficiency (SQL is a strong plus).
- Cross-Functional Project Management: Strong project management capabilities to align stakeholders with conflicting priorities and lead seamless execution across teams.
- People Leadership: Experience managing a team, with a genuine interest in people development, mentoring, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
- Executive Influence & Navigating Ambiguity: The ability to take control of unstructured, unpredictable business challenges and carve out a clear path forward. You can demonstrate thought leadership across multiple teams and functions.
