Company Description

Chord Design Studio is a nationally recognized architecture and interiors firm specializing in hospitality, residential, and mixed-use environments. We create spaces that connect form, function, and feeling — and we operate with precision, collaboration, and creativity. As we grow into a more system-driven, scalable practice, we’re looking for a Project Manager who brings clarity, calm confidence, and predictable delivery to every project.

We Value: Balance, Transparency, Innovation

Job Description

As the newest member of our talented team, you will play a vital role in shaping how projects move through design, documentation, and coordination. You are an emerging leader with 8+ years of architectural experience who thrives at the intersection of design, communication, and technical precision. You bring clarity to complexity, keep teams aligned, and communicate in a way that builds trust — with clients, consultants, and your internal team. If you’re ready for a role where your steady presence, proactive planning, and accountability elevate every project, let’s talk!

You Value: Leadership, Predictability, Quality

How you’ll spend your day:

  • Leading small and midsize projects while supporting Design Managers on large or multi-phase efforts
  • Serving as the primary day-to-day client contact — communicating updates, decisions, and deadlines with consistency and professionalism
  • Translating design direction into coordinated, buildable documents that reflect Chord’s standards of excellence
  • Preparing and reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical deliverables for quality and accuracy
  • Developing and maintaining project schedules, ensuring milestones, responsibilities, and expectations are clear
  • Coordinating consultants and internal teams to keep workflow predictable and aligned
  • Tracking scope, hours, and budgets — identifying changes early to support billing accuracy and prevent surprises
  • Supporting construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, site visits, and field reports
  • Modeling calm communication, proactive problem-solving, and team alignment

Qualifications

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture and 8+ years of professional architectural experience – licensure preferred
  • 5+ years leading small/midsize projects or major components of larger projects
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit (required) and familiarity with AutoCAD and PM tools
  • A communication style that builds trust — clear, consistent, and steady under pressure
  • Strong organization and follow-through, ensuring clients feel informed and deliverables meet Chord’s standards with fewer revisions
  • Ability to identify risks early, manage multiple priorities, and keep teams one step ahead
  • A proactive, accountable mindset that inspires confidence from clients, consultants, and Design Managers alike
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills – comfortable presenting design concepts and project updates to clients
  • Naturally gifted leadership – you love growing younger professionals through mentorship, coaching, and setting the example for excellence
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to work cross-functionally, assembling architectural deliverables and resolving project issues
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed
