Job Description

Due to growth, we've a vacancy available for a Pipeline Operations Technician. This role is essential for returning patient results within the Genomic Medicine Service. The role will form part of the wider Logistics team and is responsible for ensuring all cases run correctly within the Bioinformatics pipeline and are returned on time to the NHS or research collaborators. 

As a Pipeline Operations Technician, you'll ensure the smooth operations of the pipelines and troubleshoot problems when they occur, liaise with the development teams to report any issues and design solutions and provide second line support to internal customers and the research community who are using Genomics England tools. 

Skills & Experience for Success

In order to perform in this role, you'll need to have:

-  Proficiency in Linux and basic command line skills  
-  Familiarity with the databases and resources available for variant interpretation 
-  Familiarity with running shell and python scripts 
-  Exposure to Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) analysis methods. 

As well as having initiative, being independent as well as a good team player, capable of balancing competing demands and to prioritise.
