Job Description

The Technical Sales Manager, International TacCIS is responsible for promoting and selling our Tactical Communication and Information Systems (TacCIS) products and services Internationally.  This position will connect with future prospects and existing customers and future prospects and existing partners to understand complex technical challenges, articulate the value of our solutions, and close high value deals. This role demands a deep grasp of the technology (software, hardware, or integrated systems), the ability to translate technical features into business benefits, and a relentless drive to meet or exceed revenue targets.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Subject matter expert to the Business Development team with an understanding of competitive positioning, and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with End Users/Customers/Partners to capture technical requirements, validating potential solutions, and bridging the gap between user needs and technical implementation. Building and maintaining a strong network and aligning with strategic vision.
  • Technical Presentations, Demos, and White Papers – Design and deliver product demonstrations and Proof of Concepts that address the end user/customer needs.
  • Proposal Development – Support proposals and pricing models in partnership with the product and pricing teams.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration – Work closely with the product management teams, engineering teams, Business Development, Customer, and partners, to ensure solutions are feasible, correctly scoped, and delivered on promise.
  • Customer Advocacy – Post sale, act as an escalation point for technical issues, ensuring a smooth hand off to execution team and fostering of long-term relationships for upsell/cross sell opportunities.
  • Market Intelligence – Capture of competitor activity, emerging technologies, and customer feedback; feed insights back into the product and business development teams. Work closely with Product Line Management Lead.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in B2B technical sales or solutions engineering.
  • Technical Skills – Strong grasp of the Defense industry technologies (AI/ML, cybersecurity, networking, cloud).  Ability to conduct system architecture reviews and translate specifications into Business value.
  • Sales Skills – Solution selling methodology.  Negotiation and contract management experience. Excellent presentation and storytelling abilities.
  • High emotional intelligence, can influence multiple stakeholders (Engineering, BD etc.).
  • Self-Starter with strong time management and ability to work in fast paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel internationally. (Customer sites, Trade Shows, conferences).
  • Experience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models is preferred.

Additional Information

This role directly reports in to our Mission Systems team based in Canada.  As such the role could be undertaken with hybrid working, with time spent at our offices in Oakdale, South Wales or remotely dependant on distance from site.

Salary for this position is £67,000 to £90,000, depending on experience plus our excellent flexible benefits package.
