We are a team of over 550 professionals and are seeking an Engineer to join our Hardware Support Team which maintains and supports Gcore's data center equipment, troubleshooting issues and ensuring an optimized stock of spare parts.

Job Description

What You will Do:

  • Perform troubleshooting and proactive maintenance tasks on server equipment located within the data center.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, data center personnel, and customers to address hardware-related issues and ensure efficient resolution.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of hardware configurations, changes, and issue resolutions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of hardware maintenance processes and best practices.

Qualifications

We Expect You to Have:

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in IT, with a focus on hardware support.
  • Excellent understanding of server architecture and components of PC hardware.
  • Proven experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware issues to resolution.
  • Basic Linux/Unix knowledge.
  • Familiarity with fundamental networking concepts, including network devices, IP addressing, DNS, gateways, MAC addresses, ping, ifconfig, traceroute, etc.
  • Ability to independently identify and implement solutions for hardware-related challenges.
  • Strong multitasking skills and effective time management abilities.
  • Proficient English language skills (at least Intermediate level).

Will be a Plus:

  • Familiarity with equipment from HP, DELL, Supermicro, Arista, Cisco, and APC.
  • In-depth understanding of the operation of network and server equipment, as well as data center infrastructure.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as BASH and Python to automate tasks.
  • Enthusiasm for process automation and a proactive approach to enhancing efficiency.
  • A strong desire to learn and stay updated with the latest advancements in hardware and technology.
