Job Description

The successful candidate will be a licensed Customs Broker who will act as Clients Corporate Licensed Broker with US Customs. They will be fully responsible for all aspects of the company’s US Customs Brokerage and Customs Compliance activities. The position will require a heavy reliance on strong, current Customs Brokerage and trade compliance knowledge as well as a sound knowledge of general freight forwarding and logistics. The Brokerage Manager is responsible for the branch offices performance as regards brokerage, compliance, sustainable growth and profitability. The role requires a very strong desire to deliver high levels of performance both internally and externally.

Qualifications

  • Ensuring the Department is run in accordance with the directives of the Directors
  • Responsible for Department’s operational performance, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability
  • Responsibility to ensure operators are compliant in all areas including US Customs/CBP and all Federal Regulatory requirements..
  • Responsibility within the management team for a pro-active response to sales and new opportunities from existing customers/network
  • Responsibility to evaluate each customer’s worth and act accordingly
  • Maximize staff resources and effectiveness (drive efficiency and optimization)
  • Ensure the focus of the operational teams is on the customer needs, service delivery and best practice.
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement while building a strong relationship with relevant parties both internal and external
  • Complete understanding of the import/export air/ocean as appropriate for the role
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as the business requires and to ensure all areas of the operation are run in line with company expectations
  • Train new team members to company standards, customer service and job duties

Additional Information

Preferred Experience:

  • Current experience as a LCB in a similar position or as assistant to similar position.
  • Experience and working knowledge of inside sales and customer service activities preferred.
  • Familiar with financial aspects of the local economy

Required Technical Skills:

  • Excellent current knowledge of US Customs Brokerage requirements.
  • Knowledge of ACE Portal and all CBP systems
