Job Description

The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Payment Operations Associate, Payins to manage and streamline the payment process at Flywire. In this role, you will optimize fund movement and reconciliation across global accounts to optimize current partner relationships and identify areas for improvement. This individual will support the Payment Operations, Payouts, and Customer Support Teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify and match incoming payments to customer bookings.

  • Reconcile accounting entries across global accounts and multiple currencies.

  • Investigate and resolve unmatched or misapplied payments by working with internal teams and payment partners.

  • Troubleshooting bank and partner reporting issues to ensure accurate and timely identification of incoming funds

  • Identify recurring payment issues and recommend process improvements to reduce manual work and reconciliation breaks.

Qualifications

Here's what we're looking for:

  • Undergraduate degree with 1-2 years of corporate work experience in the payments / banking industry

  • Expertise in payments identification and reconciliation

  • Experience working with bank and partner reporting is a plus

  • Experience with payment processing and investigations is a plus

  • Exceptional attention to detail, sense of urgency for deadlines, and strong organizational skills

  • Fast learner with the ability to work independently, troubleshoot issues and drive tasks to completion in a fast-paced environment

  • Great communication and collaboration skills; a true team player

  • Fluent English, written and spoken (additional languages are an advantage)

  • A positive, can-do attitude; demonstrated willingness and eagerness to learn

  • Passion for problem solving and helping customers

  • Excellent analytical and computer skills including proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets 

  • Experience using applications such as Slack, Zendesk, Jira, and/or Looker is a plus
